monoman's productions are now a regular feature in Beatport's top 100 in the form of various guises and aliases and its no wonder why his studio skills are being called on from a collage of different artists.
Born into musical blood, and weened on classic Motown, Jazz, Hip Hop and Rock, Monoman was quick off the blocks, making music long before most club kids have learnt to moonwalk. Mastering his first synths, sequencers and decks in his early teens, his in-depth hardware knowhow saw him graduate in sound engineering from leading institution Leeds LCM before jumping effortlessly from jazz to hip hop, soul and house production work.
So far, monoman's production credits include production and remixes for Angel Alanis, Jnr Sanchez, Good Charlotte, Mousse T, DJ Sneak, Azari & III and Sonny Fodera, Scion Radio, Matty Lopez and Danny Whitehead.
Look out for this years new releases...

This week represents a guest mix from Dj Mes for the last hour and a bit of the show. With a quick 40 min mix up first by myself, Juliet Fox.
Guesthouse Music - San Francisco
In an era where digital labels increasingly dominate underground house, DJ Mes and his San Francisco-based Guesthouse Music imprint has defied the trend, producing a big brand of vinyl and digital beats that range from quirky and jackin’ to deep and dirty. Since its May 2005 inception, Guesthouse has guided the vibe of the underground sound, introducing artists such as Cosy Creatures, The Sound Republic and Gramophonedzie to global house audiences and staking claim as one of the industry’s premiere, international labels.
Mes’ music career dates back to the mid-1990s, when the Bay Area-born producer took early influence from the likes DJ Dan (Funky Techno Tribe) and Tony Hewitt (Tango Recordings). As an avid fan of ’70s and ’80s funk, disco, electro and hip-hop, Mes quickly learned to meld his early musical influences into a deep, driving sound that would go on to define him as a DJ. Mes’ attack of bass line-heavy tracks separated his performances from other West Coast DJs of the day, and quickly earned him performance opportunities at the legendary San Francisco’s Area 51 parties, The Gathering, Freedom and The Burning Man Festival.
His performance success led to his co-founding of Daddy’s Records in 1996 with partners Rob Doten (Wicked, Greyhound Records) and Buna (Wicked. E.T.I., Oboro). Shortly after, he began producing regularly and landed his first residency at Reno, Nevada’s Spin Cycle. The gig would kick start what has become an international touring lifestyle for Mes, who—more than 12 years later—continues touring regularly and showcases his blend of West Coast beats and Chi-town boompty house. Some of his signature stops have included Chicago’s esteemed Slicks Lounge, Scotland’s Isle of Skye festival and the Deliro Party on the Sugar Loaf in Rio Brazil.
After years of releasing tracks on acclaimed labels such as Black Cherry, Magnetic and Safe In Sound, Mes was ready to release music on his own terms. In 2005, he set out to launch a vinyl imprint that embodied the same genre-crossing sound he played and produced both on the decks and in the studio. Inspired by the close-knit vibe of the underground house community in the U.S. and beyond, the name Guesthouse was born. Since its inception, Guesthouse has released more than 60 EP’s, including 33 vinyl releases and slew of other choice cuts on the its sub label, Guess Who.
“With Guesthouse, I’ve always tried to focus on consistency, quality and music aimed directly at the dance floor,” Mes says. “It’s important for me to support and showcase mainstay artists as well as the freshest up-and-coming talent, and I think that’s one thing that sets us apart from other labels.”
Some of that breakthrough talent includes boundary-bending artists such as Gramophonedzie, Australian producer Ricardo Rae, and The Sound Republic, whose first two full EP’s on Guesthouse helped usher in the new school sound that defines underground house today. Classic cuts such as Cosy Creature “Show You the Way” continue to pulse as the defining beat to a genre that continually evolves in subtle ways
Today, Mes continues bringing his big bass-lined tracks to global audiences through both his label releases and performances. He continues to play as a resident for Los Angeles’ HAWT Music Collective as well maintaining prolific production schedule for both of his labels.
“I started Guesthouse to put out music that I liked and might not otherwise get the chance to see the light of day,” he says. “It’s really helped me reach a much wider audience by getting into record stores around the globe—thus making Guesthouse a household name for boompty house music.”
As a DJ, Producer & Radio Presenter, Juliet Fox is all about all things house. Her energetic attitude & versatile sets have gained her a reputation as a local favourite at Australian club nights, gigs and events “ but with a long list of residencies, it's surprising to find that Juliet is relatively new to the DJ scene: It was around 6 years ago I bought a set of Technics 1200 turntables and taught myself to mix with the help of a couple of friends who were already DJ'ing, says Juliet. But it wasn't until 3 years ago I actually started to play out in clubs. Radio is also a passion for Juliet, and a huge part of her burgeoning music career was spent co-hosting a radio show called Freshly Squeezed which had her up early every Friday morning for a long three years on 92.7 Fresh FM (Adelaide). The world called for Juliet, and she lived every DJ's dream in 2010 moving to Ibiza for the summer. Her talent combined with her varied House sensibilities quickly found Juliet playing sets at Bay Bar, Vodka Club, Martina's and Itaca, also seeing her involved with running a night at Hotel Es'Vive on a weekly basis. After Ibiza, Juliet found herself in Birmingham (UK), where her sets quickly gained respect on the local scene - and a residency at two of the largest nights in Birmingham followed: If U Want It at Bushwackers, and FACE at Rainbow Warehouse. It was in Birmingham that Juliet was also approached to launch her first UK-based Radio Show, Attraction Radio, on Manchester Global Radio, specialising in all things House. The tour bug hasn't been confined to Europe for Juliet, also recently playing for Gatecrasher in India, Planet Cream in Adelaide, Mbargo in Indonesia, Divine in Miami, and Krank Music Festival in Goa. But it's locally that Juliet is kicking goals “ with 2012 having been a big year, with her own production skills bloom, and tracks being signed to Ugenius, Beatdown Music, Bamboo, Purple Sun Records, and her own label Attraction Music. We can only expect that 2013 will be an even more progressive year for her as she starts it off with the Remixed Tour in Australia for EMI, and is plans to relocate to Europe in March to base herself there.
